Terms
Terms of sale and use
Petals is one person making instruments. These terms cover buying and using Folium. Plain language, no traps.
What you're buying
You're buying a license to use Folium, not the software itself. Use it to make music, personal or commercial, on the machines you own. Don't resell it, and don't pass your license key to anyone else.
Updates
Updates to Folium are free. Bug fixes and new features come to you at no extra cost. Buy it once, keep it current.
The demo
The free download is the whole plugin, not a cut-down version. It plays in full. Saving and exporting are held back, and it washes with a little noise every 30 seconds, until a license key unlocks it. So you can hear exactly what you're buying before you pay.
Refunds
Because the demo lets you hear the full instrument first, all sales are final. We don't offer refunds. If a purchase went wrong, the key never arrived, you were charged twice, write to shades@petals.fm and we'll sort it out.
Buying from the EU, the UK, or the EEA. By buying, you ask for immediate delivery of your license and you acknowledge that the 14-day right to withdraw ends once delivery has started.
Your license key
Treat your key like a password. It is tied to you. You can sign in to your account any time to see it again or have it re-sent. A key that gets published or shared around can be revoked.
The instrument is provided as is
We build Folium carefully and test it hard. Even so, we can't promise it suits every setup or never has a fault. To the extent the law allows, Petals is not liable for loss or damage that comes from using it. Where you have statutory consumer rights, those still stand.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the current version lives on this page.
